The Colombo Crime Family was founded by Joseph Profaci a close friend of Joseph Bonanno, boss of the Bonanno Crime Family. The Colombo Family is a Family that has had its fair share of rough times. First Crazy Joe Gallo decided to challenge Profaci, as a result starting a war. In the 1990s a war erupted over the leadership between Carmine Persico loyalists and men loyal to Acting Boss Vic Orena. The Persico faction won, putting Carmine's son, Alphonse, in the boss seat. The 1990s war has left the Family divided and in disarray.
